The erotic and the pornographic periods of literature
The author tells about the love and the pornography periods of literature,
insisting on the paradigm changes from the XIX th and XX th century. The
analysis focuses on a part of Ion Creangă’s and on the vanguard’s literary work.
Ion Creangă’s stylistic power transforms an anecdote into a fabulous lexical
performance, in which some words (băietan, strein, căzut din ceriu, supus,
răbdătoriu şi tăcut) and a saying, with the poetic licence in the middle, take
us away from the men of letters’ solemnities and drop us in a performance like
the ones put on stage by Rabelais or the Renaissance authors (from Boccaccio to
Machiavelli with its Mătrăgună ). Any vanguard (almost any vanguard) ignores
limit, interdiction, discovers the ludicrous convention. Any of the vanguard
writers “cancels the bounds”. It has been written a lot about Geo Bogza’s and
his indignant friends’ magazines that had the purpose of eliminating the persons
endowed with decency and who took their vigour from the creation’s and effort’s
discipline, from the order needed in the well functioning of the world in which
we live.
