EDITORS
Hortensia PÂRLOG is Professor Emerita of English language at the West University, Timişoara, Romania. She is the author, co-author or co-editor of several books and dictionaries in the fields of English phonetics and phonology, lexicology, syntax, pragmatics and translation studies, and has also published numerous articles in these areas. She served as head of the English Department for ten years (1990-1996; 2004-2008), chairperson of RSEAS (the Romanian Society of English and American Studies, 1996-2002; chairperson of the Timișoara branch, 1990-1996); she was a member of the ESSE Board (European Society for the Study of English; 1996 - 2002), secretary and member of the ESSE Executive (2002-2008). She was the editor of The European English Messenger (2013-2016), (see www.essenglish.org), of two other journals, and is an advisory board member of many journals. She is the founder and editor of B.A.S./ British and American Studies journal.
Mircea MIHĂIEȘ is Professor Emeritus of American and English literatures at the West University of Timișoara, Romania and Ph.D. supervisor. He is also editor-in-chief of the Orizont literary magazine, a member of the Romanian Writers’ Union board of directors. He has authored an impressive number of nationally and internationally acknowledged books, critical studies, reviews, interviews, as well as edited, anthologized and translated a series of high-profile volumes. He is a six-time recipient of the prestigious Romanian Writers’ Union literary criticism award, an acclaimed columnist for the country’s leading literary magazine, România literară, and a prominent figure on the Romanian cultural scene. He served as Vice-Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute (2005-2012).
Loredana PUNGĂ is Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the West University of Timișoara, Romania. Her domains of expertise are English lexicology, applied and cognitive linguistics and translation studies. She holds an MA in British and American Studies and a PhD in Philology from the university where she currently teaches. Her publications include three books and six book chapters in thematic volumes, most of them published abroad. Loredana Pungă is (co)-editor of three volumes published in the UK and a member of the editorial board of three academic journals indexed in a number of important international databases. She has published over fifty articles in her areas of research. She has been a PhD supervisor since 2016. Since 2008, she has filled various university management positions (head of department, vice-dean and dean).
Dana Percec is Professor of English Literature in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, The Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, West University of Timișoara, Romania. She teaches Elizabethan and Victorian literature, American literature, British studies and Literary translation. She is a PhD supervisor in English literature. Her published work, in English and Romanian, includes the following titles: The Body’s Tale. Some Ado about Shakespearean Identities (2006), Reading Cultural History in William Shakespeare’s Plays (2014), courses of British studies, collections of essays on topics related to the contemporary Romanian society, an edited series about literary genres, published by Cambridge Scholars (Romance. The History of a Genre, 2012; Reading the Fantastic Imagination. The Avatars of a Literary Genre, 2014; A Serious Genre. The Apology of Children’s Literature, 2016). She collaborates for a new edition of Shakespeare’s Complete Works in Romanian, with prefaces for The Taming of the Shrew (2011), Antony and Cleopatra (2014), Much Ado about Nothing (2015), All’s Well that Ends Well (2017), Cymbeline (2019. She is deputy editor in chief for Brukenthalia and a peer reviewer for Romanian Journal of English Studies. She is currently a member in the National Scientific Board of Academic Titles and Degrees appointed by the Romanian Ministry of Education. She is also a permanent member of the Romanian Writers’ Union and a member of academic societies like the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE), the European Shakespeare Research Association (ESRA), the Romanian Association for General and Comparative Literature (ALGCR), etc.
Adrian CÎNTAR is a Lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the West University of Timișoara, Romania. His domains of expertise are text and databases editing, Computer Assisted Translation, interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and research and Computer applications in Archaeology. He holds an MA in Informatics Studies and a PhD in Humanities (Archaeology with Informatics applications) from the university where he currently teaches. His publications include one book as author and four books as (co)-author or contributor. Adrian Cîntar is (co)-editor of three volumes published abroad. He has published over fifteen articles in his area of research.
